吴老师有话说:艺术美感在科学创造中往往能给人们意想不到的启迪。今天就让我们尝试着玩一把“跨界混搭”,用科学的方法表现抽象艺术,在香浓的牛奶画布上打造出一支液体万花筒。
Science; Chemistry; Physics; Surface Tension; Color Mixing; Molecules; Miscibility; Surfactant.牛奶万花筒对应STEAM教育中的物理和化学科学,具体运用到表面张力的相关知识。
所需材料:Whole Milk 全脂牛奶、Dinner plate 碟子、Food coloring (red, yellow, green, blue) 食用色素(红黄蓝绿)、Dishwashing soap 洗洁精、Cotton swabs 棉签
1. Pour enough milk in the dinner plate to completely cover the bottom to the depth of about 0.6cm. Allow the milk to settle before moving on to the next step.往碟子里倒入大概半厘米多一点的牛奶,静置一会儿。
2. Add one drop of each of the four colors of food coloring—red, yellow, green, and blue—to the milk. Keep the drops close together in the center of the plate of milk.再在碟子中央把不同的食用色素滴在一起。
3. Find a clean cotton swab and touch the tip of the cotton swab to the center of the milk. It’s important not to stir the mix—just touch it with the tip of the cotton swab. 用一根干净的棉签轻轻点在中间(不要搅拌牛奶哦),看看是否有什么反应。
4.Now place a drop of liquid dish soap on the other end of the cotton swab. Place the soapy end of the cotton swab back in the middle of the milk and hold it there for 10 to 15 seconds. Look at that burst of color! 现在蘸一点洗洁精在棉签的另一头, 再放到牛奶中间去等待大概10到15秒,等着颜色突然“爆炸”吧。
5. Add another drop of soap to the tip of the cotton swab and try it again. Experiment with placing the cotton swab at different places in the milk. Notice that the colors in the milk continue to move even when the cotton swab is removed. 继续蘸洗洁精,把棉签放到碟子任意位置再试试看(甚至最后直接移开棉签),就会看到不断移动变化的“牛奶万花筒”咯。
通过90分钟有趣的科学课堂小朋友了解了表面张力的原理,并且积极探讨身边表面张力的现象。吴老师在这节课中调动每一位学生思维的主动性和积极性激发了学生求知欲。
